[[Instructions.]]}
$name, Welcome to Chesstopia II. In the previous Episode, you assured the Goddess Caissa that you were up to the task of undertaking a meaningful quest...
Throughout the game, your strength, your happiness, and chess rating will be monitored. You may win (or lose) the game based upon this criteria. You do not need to keep track of your status, Caissa will do that for you. Just keep in mind that your choices may impact on these criteria. Your current status appears at the bottom of every page.

[[The Meeting House]]
<p><p><font color="gray"><h6>STATUS<br>
STRENGTH: $strength | HAPPINESS: $happiness | RATING: $rating</h6></font>The meeting house is an older building, with dusty floors and a musty odor. There are numerous tables and chairs. It could be a great chess tournament hall, but there is not a chess set to be found, anywhere.
<i>Chesstopia is a place where chess is thought about, but not played.</i>
In stark contrast to last time, there is spiritual activity everywhere here. [[Caissa]] is holding court in the corner, while [[Engine Eddie]] is giving a fighting demonstration on the stage. [[Gambit George]] is milling around, looking for someone to take a wager. [[Dennis Dunst]] is walking back and forth, muttering to himself. Meanwhile, [[Betty Blitz]] is trying to engage someone in conversation. In another corner, there is a video monitor labeled [[The Chess Oracle]]. You have many questions about this strange place...

"Very well, it seems you have decided to accept my challenge. Understand one thing - it won't be easy."
Caissa shows you the contents of a locked room. You see, in a display cabinet, all manner of chess sets.
"Caissa, I thought Chesstopia is where chess is thought about, but not played?" you ask. "$name, you are clever," she responds, "This is my personal collection of chess sets. You will notice that each Pawn and Piece is labeled." You take a minute to examine the sets, and notice that one set is missing a Bishop. "Why is this [[Bishop]] missing?" you ask. "Some joker stole it during an exhibition, back when physical chess was played in Chesstopia. Since that time, no actual chess play has been allowed here..." Caissa sighs. "Until the Bishop is returned, no chess play will ever be allowed in Chesstopia. Anyone who finds this Bishop will be richly rewarded." You make note of the style and color of the missing Bishop.
The fog envelopes both you and Caissa...
Suddenly, you are again with Caissa in some unknown location.
With that unique sweeping hand motion of which she is so fond, Caissa steps aside to reveal a small, dingy anteroom. In the corner you notice an interesting device, making whirring noises. It is small like a cell phone.
(display: "Time Machine")Eddie Engine is busy showing off his fighting skills.
"Who is this loser?" Eddie interrupts his exhibition long enough to taunt you, in front of the others.
"My name is $name. I am not a loser, but it is kind of hard to prove that in a place where <i>chess is thought about, but not played."</i>
"Yeah, yeah - I know your type," Eddie retorts, "You <u>think</u> you know how to play chess. Well, buster, I know how to play chess - I'm an engine."
"An engine without a personality, I see!" you respond.
"Those are fighting words," Eddie hisses. "Prepare to defend yourself." Eddie takes a fighting stance...
